The Common Man

We, the people of India are the common populace of the democratic country India, but the biggest question is, do we really have a democracy. A democracy by definition is supposed to be a country in which every person has the fundamental  rights and more importantly the most important right of being his own governor. A democratic country gives the freedom to every man to do what he wants to do, but he will of course be answerable for his actions.
It can be said that in a democracy there is required a certain degree of control, so as to maintain the Law and Order, which in turn gives every person a sense of security. However, is there a limit to the amount of restraint that the law can put on an individual, or can the law be taken in someone’s hands by sheer power of position.
The Common man is affected the most by any drastic shift in govt. policies, but who actually decides these laws. Are we to believe that the so-called people’s choice are the ones who are doing the policy making, or is there another face to the decision-making façade of the Indian Parliament.
What I am actually trying to imply, is that are we in the right hands ? Does this country feel like a true democracy  or a democracy controlled by people with power ?
Suppose we are stuck in a decadent system of government, then how can we bring about a change ? Is it by simply standing up and speaking up ? Well actually, that can be done, but the biggest roadblock to that path is power  over the policy makers. Does the common man have access to such kind of a rarity ? No.

The moot point, at this juncture, is the importance and actual role of the common man in the government.
